EC-Council CCT Course Content

You’ll learn about the main challenges in cybersecurity: what kinds of threats and vulnerabilities exist, how attacks happen, and the different types of malware.

You’ll also explore how systems check who you are (identification, authentication, authorisation), and you’ll get a solid introduction to cryptography (how data is secured) and public key infrastructure (PKI), which is a way to manage and use encryption in a network.

Examine different types of security controls: administrative (like policies and governance), physical (such as securing the physical space), and technical (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and more).

You’ll learn about securing wireless networks, alongside the principles behind virtualisation (running virtual machines), cloud security, and how encryption and segmentation help protect data.

Discover how to design applications with security in mind and test them to find weak spots.

Plus, you’ll learn about securing different devices: smartphones, Internet of Things (IoT) gadgets, and operational technology (OT) systems (for example, industrial devices).

When things go wrong, such as a security breach, you need to know how to respond. This module teaches you the full incident response process: how to handle and investigate incidents.

You’ll also cover the basics of computer forensics, including: collecting digital evidence and analysing it to understand what happened.

To keep a system secure, you can’t just set defences and forget. In this part of the CCT you’ll learn how to assess network security using threat-hunting techniques, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessments, ethical hacking, penetration testing, and managing configuration and assets.

You’ll practise monitoring network traffic, analysing logs, and troubleshooting suspicious or anomalous activity.

Learn how to secure data through backup, retention and preventing data loss.

You’ll also cover risk management: what it is, how to analyse and plan for risk and how to prepare for major incidents with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
